The Similan Islands are one of Thailand’s most famous diving destinations, known for clear water, granite boulders, healthy reefs and diverse marine life.
From Khao Lak, divers can join day trips to the Similan Islands, Koh Bon, Koh Tachai and Richelieu Rock, depending on the boat schedule and weather conditions.
Most day trips include hotel pickup in Khao Lak, meals, snacks, drinking water, tanks, weights and a professional dive guide. Equipment rental is available if required.
The Similan Islands are located around 70–90 km from the mainland, so most day trips use speedboats or fast dive boats to reduce travel time.
Which Similan Diving Day Trip Is Right for You?
There are several day-trip options from Khao Lak, and the best choice depends on your preferred dive sites, travel time and boat style.
Trips may visit the Similan Islands, Koh Bon, Koh Tachai or Richelieu Rock depending on the boat schedule. Some boats depart from Tab Lamu Pier, while others leave from Baan Nam Khem.
For the easiest logistics, we recommend staying in Khao Lak the night before your trip, especially if you are joining an early-morning departure.
